Orangeries – Ideal Combinations
Orangeries represent the ideal combination of the benefits and looks of conservatories and more conventional extensions.
There is a larger ratio of double glazing ensuring excellent views of the surroundings whilst retaining the solid feeling of a conventional extension. An orangery can sometimes be the only solution when the aspect of the proposed site might prohibit a more conventional conservatory. Even in the UK's climate too much sunlight can be the curse of the most beautiful glasshouse.
With the roof comprising part flat lead (or polymer) and part glass the internal ceiling becomes an interesting combination of plaster and double glazing which can be enhanced by the fitting of down lighters etc. In applications where 'joining' to the existing house is difficult due to upper windows, difficult features or just plain drainage pipes a Paramount Orangery is ideal chiefly in comparison to a pitched/tiled roof.
